The Brewers were looking to wake their bats up while the Red Sox were looking to maintain some momentum after tying the Braves in their last game. Brewers starter Matt Beelen, cruised through the 1st inning to start the game, this proved to be his only easy inning. In the bottom of the 1st, Red Sox starter Colin Kargus got two quick outs, but then Jon Zywicki walked, stole second, and went to third on a wild through by the Red Sox catcher. Mark Keenan made them pay by blooping a single to left field to open the scoring.

The Red Sox answered in the 2nd when Eric Brisebois and Kargus each singled and Jeff Gordon sacrificed them over. JF Goulet tied the game by hitting a sacrifice fly to right field. After the Brewers couldn't score in the 2nd the Red Sox came out firing in the 3rd. With 1 out, Matt Baxter doubled, Roch Seguin singled, JP Donoghue singled, and then Brisebois also singled scoring 2 runs to make the score 4-1.

Just when it seemed the Brewers could do no right, Mike Gingerich led off the bottom of the 3rd with a single and Matt Beelen walked. After Zywicki hit into a fielder's choice and stole second, Keenan belted a double to right center field to score two runs. Then after Joe Beelen got hit by a pitch, Frank Macera hit a 2-out, 2 RBI double down the right field line to give the Brewers the lead 5-4.

Both teams failed to score in the 4th, but in the 5th the Red Sox tied it up with a sacrifice fly by Kargus. In the bottom of the inning, Brisebois came in to pitch for the Red Sox, after striking out the first two batters he faced, Macera singled and Hank Beelen walked. Mike Gazo then crushed a 2-out, 2-strike pitch to deep right center to score both runs and take the lead. The Red Sox then failed to score in the 6th despite a one out double by Felix Septimo.

In the bottom of the frame the Brewers got some insurance again with 2 out, when Macera hit a 2 RBI single to make the score 9-5. After surrendering a double, Matt Beelen came out of the game as Gazo came in to close it out, and the Red Sox were able to get an un-earned run, but no more, as Gazo got the save.

Player of the Game: Frank Macera...batting: 4/4, 4 RBI, 1 2B, 1 run scored.
