A tired and slumping Brewers team went into Kanata on this night and hooked up in a pitching duel between Mike Gingerich and Dan Rollin for Kanata. Both pitchers flew through the first 2 innings with both stranding one runner in each inning. After Rollin stranded another runner in the top of the 3rd, Kanata struck in the bottom of the inning when Craig Wigglesworth knocked in Chad Hopewell with a fielder's choice. In the 4th, the Brewers stranded one runner again after Chad Hopewell threw Frank Macera out at third from right field as Macera tried to go from 1st to 3rd on a single. In the bottom of the 4th, Kanata took a 2-0 lead by scoring an un-earned run when Chad Hopewell hit an RBI single.

In the 5th, the Brewers finally got some runs, highlited by a 2 RBI double by Keith Blouin to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead. Rollin would get the Brewers to strand runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out to get out of the inning. Kanata promptly tied the game in the bottom of the 5th, after Wigglesworth and Phil Muller singled and Mosely hit an RBI sac fly to left field.

The Brewers stranded 2 more runners in the 6th, and Kanata looked to take the lead. With one out, Rollin smashed a double to center field and then Chad Hopewell hit an RBI single to score Rollin and take the lead 4-3. The Brewers got a lead off walk in the 7th, but a strike out and double play ended the game in Kanata's favour.
