It was do or die for the Brewers on this night as Mike Gazo took the mound for the Brewers. Gazo got off to a rough start as Hugh Kellam hit a 2 run homer in the 1st inning to give Kanata a quick 2-0 lead. The Brewers looked to strike back in the bottom of the frame off of Kanata starter Dan Rollin. After Jon Zywicki walked and Matt Beelen singled, Jason Krottner hit an RBI single through the right side of the infield. Dave Rivers then walked to load the bases with nobody out, but Rollin was able to get a force out at home and then a strike out and looked like he'd get out of the inning with the lead still, but then Joe Beelen walked in a run and then Mark Keenan did the same to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead. This was the end of the night for Rollin as Dave Pennie came in to pitch and struck out the next batter to get out of the inning.

From here, both pitchers began to sail through innings, Gazo stranded runners on first and third in the 3rd inning, but that was as close as Kanata would come in the middle innings (2nd,3rd,4th). Meanwhile, Pennie also sailed through the next 3 innings with ease. In the 5th, Kanata looked to even the score after Shawn Hopewell doubled to centre field with one out. After a ground out advance him to third, Kellam hit a grounder deep in the hole at shortstop for an RBI single and tied the game. The Brewers then threatened to take the lead again in the bottom of the 5th when Matt Beelen singled and Krottner also singled and eventually both stood at 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. Pennie was able to get a strike out, ground out and fly out, to get out of the jam though and keep the score deadlocked.

After walking Majkowski to lead off the 6th, Gazo was relieved by Mike Gingerich who promptly induced a pop-up and double play to get out of the inning. The Brewers got a runner to second with 2 out, but couldn't score him, thus sending the game into the 7th inning still tied.

For Kanata in the 7th, Shawn Hopewell walked with 1 out, advanced to second via a pass ball and then to 3rd on a ground out to second base bringing Kellam up with 2 out. Gingerich was able to get Kellam to fly out to centre field to end the threat. The Brewers then came up in the 7th looking to win the game. Matt Beelen led off with a single up the middle. Krottner then followed with a grounder to shortstop, but beat out the double play throw to first. Krottner then stole second with Dave Rivers at the plate. Rivers then hit a grounder up the middle that hit Pennie's glove and rolled too far away for Kanata to get an out on the play. After Rivers stole second, the Brewers stood at 2nd and 3rd with one out and Keith Blouin at the plate. Then luckily for the Brewers, with a 2-0 count, Krottner scored on a passed ball to give the Brewers victory and to force a 3rd game.
