Braves at Brewers
Sportsplex

boxscore

In another battle at the Sportsplex between two long time rivals, the Brewers came back on the Braves for the second time of the season.  Brewers starter, Geoff Magnus, got through the first two innings easily, giving up just 2 hits. Braves starter Steph Ouellette easily got through the first inning, but ran into trouble in the second as the Brewers scored twice on RBI`s from Frank Macera and Shawn Painter.

The Braves struck in the 3rd inning with 2 outs, as Rob Latulippe blasted a grand slam over the left field wall to give the Braves a 4-2 lead. After shutting the Brewers down in the 3rd, the Braves added 2 more runs in the 4th, both un-earned for a 6-2 lead.

In the bottom of the 4th, Magnus helped his own cause by hitting a lead off solo homer to make the score 6-3 Braves. Matt Beelen then came in to pitch the 5th and 6th innings for the Brewers, and allowed no runs. The game then went to the bottom of 6th, with time running out literally for the Brewers as the 6th inning looked like it would be the last. After walking the lead off hitter, and then a fielder`s choice for an out, Darren Keating came in to pitch for the Braves. Jon Zywicki then hit a double and Matt Beelen walked to load the bases. Sean Lecuyer  then came up and hit a dramatic grand slam to left center field to give the Brewers a 7-6 lead, the game then ended a batter later, as the game reached the time limit to start a new inning.

Player of the Game : Jon Zywicki...3/4, double, 1 run, stolen base.
