In an early season battle of these 2 long time rivals, a couple of good pitching performances and then a few clutch hits by both teams in the end highlighted this 4-4 tie.

Kanata Selects pitcher Steve Derouin shut down the Brewers bats through 5 innings giving up only 3 hits and striking out 6 with the Brewers only threatening in the 1st.  Meanwhile, Brewers starter Geoff Magnus struggled through the first 3 innings, giving up 3 runs in the 3rd with 2 out thanks to a few walks, a wild pitch and a Rob Hopewell 2 RBI single. Magnus still struck out 6 batters, but gave way to Adam Oattes to start the 4th.

Oattes proceeded to not give up a hit until the 7th, giving the Brewers a chance.  In the 6th, Kyle Murphy came in and after a couple walks, Keith Blouin hit an RBI single, Scott Tunis walked to force in a run, and then Oattes gave the Brewers a 4-3 lead with an RBI single up the middle.  In the top of the 7th, Phil Muller hit a 1 out double and then with 2 outs, Cam Pelton hit an RBI single to tie the game at 4 to round out the scoring.  Murphy was able to hold the Brewers scoreless in the 7th to finish the game in a tie.
