This game was all about pitching, Matt Beelen and Marc Charbonneau hooked up in the first meeting of 2004 for last year's finalists. Charbonneau struck out the side 3 times enroute to 16 K's in the game. Beelen didn't give up a hit until the 5th inning enroute to a 3 hitter.
The Brewers whole offense came in the 3rd inning, when they struck for 4 runs highlited by a Geoff Magnus RBI walk, a 2 RBI double by Jason Krottner, and then an RBI single by Joe Beelen. Charbonneau would not give up another hit the rest of the game giving the Panthers a chance to come back.
The Panthers got 1 run back in the 5th via an RBI single by Keith Bray. Then Steve Tsonos hit a solo home run in the 6th inning to make the score 4-2. Matt Beelen just missed a complete game as Jason Krottner came in to get the last out in the 7th and get the save.
