The Brewers came into their 3rd game of the year, desperate for a win. Jason Krottner started for the Brewers and gave them a much needed good start. Despite the Brewers making 6 errors in the game, Krottner got through the first 4 innings giving up just 2 hits. Meanwhile, Marc Sports starter Dom McCann also pitched well through his 5 innings of work despite 4 errors behind him as well. His only trouble came when Adam Oattes came to the plate. Oattes knocked in all 3 runs that McCann gave up with a single, double, and then another single to make the score 3-0. In the 5th, Marc Sports made a game of it by scoring 2 un-earned runs off of Krottner and reliever Matt Battig, hi-lighted by a Steve Spooner double to left. The Brewers then scored 2 insurance runs in the 6th off reliever Trepanier with another RBI single from Oattes and followed with an RBI single by Geoff Magnus after stolen bases by Joe Beelen and Scott Tunis. Chris "Punk" Ivany then came in for a 3 up-3 down save to clinch the Brewers first win of the season, 5-2.
