boxscore

On a wet night at the Sportsplex, former Brewer Ryan Hobbins started for the Braves against Brewer starter Jason Krottner.  After a quick top of the 1st, the Brewers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead with all the runs being un-earned.  RBI's came from Keith Blouin, Joe Beelen, and Sean Lecuyer.   Krottner easily got through the 2nd and 3rd with the help of a double play and a couple force outs.  The Brewers put up 1 run in the 2nd on a Mike Gingerich double to score Chris Ivany from first and then Matt Beelen drove Joe Beelen in from second on an infield single that bounced too far away from the infield for the Braves to get an out on the play.  With the score 5-0, the Braves began their comeback in the 4th when Rob Latulippe led off with a double and then scored on a wild pitch and passed ball.  Then in the 5th, Krottner got the first 2 outs on 2 pitches, and then after an outfield error kept the inning alive, Todd Beaupre singled in a run and the Latulippe made the score 5-4 with a high home run to center field.  The Brewers struck right back though in the bottom of the frame on an RBI double by Joe Beelen and a sac fly by Matt Beelen to make the score 7-4 through 5 innings.  Geoff Magnus then came on to pitch in relief, gave up 1 run in the 6th on a groundout but this would be all he would allow as the Brewers squeezed through this one with a 7-5 win.

Player of the Game : Rob Latulippe - 2/3, 2 run homer, double, walk, 2 runs scored.
