Recap
In the first ever matchup between the Cubs and Brewers, the Cubs jumped out to a quick start getting 3 hits in the first inning off Brewer pitcher Geoff Magnus.
The Brewers tried to respond right away off Cubs starter Jason Fink by getting 2 hits in the first and a walk to load the bases with 1 out, but Fink got out of the
jam with a strike out and pop up.
After an un-eventfull 2nd, the Brewers got on the board in the 3rd.  Keith Blouin led off with a double to left field, then was knocked in by Adam Oattes.  Magnus then
helped his own cause by hitting his first home run of 2009 over the left field fence to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead after 3.
In the 4th, an error and walk spelled the end of the night for Fink, and Tyler Robinson came on to get the 3rd out of the inning, but Oattes and Magnus each hit RBI
singles to make the score 5-2 after 4.
After Magnus had cruised through the 2nd,3rd and 4th giving up just one base-runner, the 5th was a different story as the Cubs quickly got back in the game.
With 1 out, a Brewer error and a single brought Jeff Gordon to the plate, who promptly hit a line drive single to right field.  James Marshall then gunned down the Cubs
runner at the plate for the second out and it looked like the Brewers would get out of it.  But then with the bases loaded, JC Caron hit a single down the right field line
to score 2 runs and make the score 5-4.  Magnus eventually got out of the inning without any more damage.
The 6th and 7th were pretty un-eventfull as no runners reached 2nd base the rest of the game and the Brewers squeeked out a 5-4 win.
