Recap
On a beautiful night at the ugly McCarthy Park, the Cardinals and Brewers hooked up to play a very ugly 6 innings!
The first inning was excruciating for both teams.  In the top of the first, Brewers starter Ryan Ballingall, making his first Brewers start ever, struggled to find the zone
and 4 walks and 1 hit later, the Cardinals had a 2-0 lead.  Cardinals starter Chris Murphy also struggled in the 1st, only pitching to 3 batters and then giving way to
Cory Corso in relief.  After RBI singles by Jamie Fitzgerald, Keith Blouin, Joe Beelen; a sac fly by Jon Zwyicki and 4 other walks, the Brewers had a 6-2 lead going
into the 2nd.
Ballingall settled down from there and cruised through the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th giving up just 2 hits and 1 walk in that time. Meanwhile, the Cardinals relief pitchers had
a tough time getting outs and the Brewers scored 5 more runs in the 2nd and 3rd highlighted by an RBI single by Blouin, RBI single by James Marshall,
2 RBI double by Geoff Magnus and another RBI single by Blouin.
The Cardinals struck for 1 run in the 5th off Ballingall, then 2 runs in the 7th off reliever Adam Oattes after 3 straight Brewer errors. but the lead was too much to
overcome for the Cardinals and the game ended 11-5.
Player of the game : Keith Blouin, 3/3, 3 RBI, walk
