PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Paquette showed outstanding ability both at the plate and on the mound in 2011 finishing the  year with the team lead in Wins and Strikeouts as a pitcher, and RBIs as a hitter, and near the top in batting average.  Paquette also proved once again to be a workhorse, logging 31 innings for the A's.  When he wasn't on the hill, Paquette flashed strong defence at both SS and 2B for the Athletics.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Frank Berube was the Gryphons’ ace in 2011,  with an ERA of 1.37 and a WHIP of 1.13 on 46 innings.  His domination of other teams was perhaps most on display with his 35 K on 5 walks.  Even more remarkable was that Frank accomplished all of this in 6 weeks, since he was gone for the entire month of July.  In a rebuilding year for  the Gryphons, Frank was by far the biggest factor in our success, nearly singlehandedly earning 6 of our 10 wins with the added pressure of little run support. In other words, Frank was the reason for 6 of those 10 wins.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Also know as the "Aqua Man" its not hard to figure out what Outlaw I am referring too. With the bat herd all around the world, Aqua Man dominated Tier 2 pitching like no other. He ranked 1st in AVG, RUNS, HITS, Top 3 in stolen bases and two-baggers. His RBI total is big discrepancy to his play as he was lead off for three quarters of the season. All this in only 20 games played, Tony missed the last the last four games of the season due to a leg injury. Theres know doubt Aqua Man was the driving force behind the Outlaws 2nd pennant in a row.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Denver’s 3rd season with the SweatSox was by far his best, making an impression at the plate, on the base paths, and especially on defense.  On offense he finished with a .333 AVG leading the team in hits (24), doubles (10), triples (1), slugging (.500), & OPS (.410) - and was 2nd in runs scored (23) & RBI’s (14).  On the base paths, he led the team in stolen bases (23), and was only caught once.  On defense Denver was a vacuum at 2nd base, setting franchise records with 52 assists and 66 putouts on 124 total chances (.952).  It’s not often the second baseman is the captain of the infield, but Denver was no ordinary player this season.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Lewis showed a breakout year in 2011, leading the team in hits and finishing among the team leaders in AVG, SLG, OBP and OPS.  Lewis showed versatility, hitting in every spot in the Athletics lineup except leadoff, and providing this production out of the catcher's position only served to magnify the impact.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Phil Taylor was the Gryphons best hitter this year, notching 23 hits, 15 BBs and 19 runs with an OPS of .843 from the leadoff spot.  The most compelling stat this year was clutch hitting, with three game winning hits and a .525 RISP.  If you ask him, though, he’d say the stat he’s most proud of is averaging 6 pitches per at bat (although our stats were spotty at best, but we pretty much have to give him this one, he really wore pitchers out). Not bad for a 40 year old!

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG While he may not have started the season off as quickly as he would have liked, Denver settled in nicely recording a .429 AVG over the final half of the season to finish at .333.  Denver led the team in hits (24), doubles (10), triples (1), slugging (.500), & OPS (.410) - and was 2nd in runs scored (23) & RBI’s (14).  He was also equally impressive on the base paths, leading the team in stolen bases (23), the second most in franchise history.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Adam Di Tota was the model ball player for the Athletics this season, always showing up with a good attitude ready to play in whatever capacity needed.  One of the few A's players to not get ejected this season, Di Tota easily could have been the A's sabermetric pitcher of the year posting a team leading 1.49 FIP, 3.00 K/BB and a solid 2.15 ERA despite suffering from a markedly high BABIP against.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Geoff Nolan is the true meaning of sportsmanship, respecting the game, the umpires, opponents and the league alike with quite class and professionalism. Always smiling and known to many around the tier and the league, Geoff helped lead led the newly young Gryphons by example and was a great role model for playing the game the right way. Despite an injury plagued season where it was difficult at times to walk, Geoff played 3B and helped out at C whenever needed, without complaint and with the usual positive energy.  He made every game with a new baby on the way and a new home purchase, a level of commitment that speaks to his character.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG AKA. BABY TUNA!! Driven by his older brother Bigger Tuna, Jay was a rock in the field and spark plug at the plate. Jay played whatever roles was asked upon him through out the year, which included a few times taking the mound. Of course he did not disappoint, posting an ERA of 0.00 thru 3 innings with 5 K's.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Our manager Cory has been to, and played in every single SweatSox game over the past 3 seasons, leading the team both on and off the field by example.  On any given game night, Cory can be found either joking around on the bench, smiling on the mound, chatting it up with the opposition at first base, or trying to suck up to the umpires.  His most selfless act this season came when our 2010 relief specialist Josh Ramage went down with an injury on opening day; Cory happily sacrificed starts, innings pitched, and personal wins to take over that role and become the bullpen; because that’s what was best for the team.   There’s no denying his ability, as the runner up for SweatSox MVP, Cory was a triple threat (offense/defense/pitching).  At the pla te Cory led the team in PA’s (91), AB’s (76), RBI’s (22), triples (1), HR’s (1) while batting over .300.  On defense our tall lefty played every position except catcher, and still led the team in fielding percentage (.978).  Finally, on the mound Cory led the team in appearances (12), strikeouts (25), holds (1), saves (2), ERA (2.50), WHIP (1.21), and opponent’s batting average (.229).

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG In his first  year in the NCBL, Jordan has shown a flair for the dramatic, mixing a cannon of an arm in the field with a propensity for clutch hitting and a knack for getting on base.  Despite the numbers, he was actually a very solid pitcher for the A's this season - all 5 of the earned runs this season he gave up occurred in one bad inning.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Alex Chase was our rookie SS this year, who was still finding his NCBL legs through the first 10 games, but turned it on the last 14 to finish at .271/.417/.354 with 13 hits and 4 doubles.  Most impressive for Alex was his very low 3 strikeouts on 60 plate appearances, and out of the 3 slot in the lineup. A steady SS, Alex only made 7 errors this year, and was a great presence in the clubhouse.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG In his first full season with the SweatSox, Ross pitched in 10 of 24 games on the hill & led the team in K/IP (6.55), and at the plate finished with a nice .295 batting average.  We could always count on Ross to come up with the big hit, as he did in our only extra inning win this season (walk-off RBI single), and in the first round of the playoffs ( .444 average in 3 games)
