PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG The Dukes have nominated number 44 Steve "Downtown" Brown as their 2013 Most Valuable Player. By far the Dukes best and most consistent two way player, Browner was a leader with the glove - captaining the defence at short stop, playing there in all but two games. However, Steve didn't only lead the team defencively, he also anchored the team's offence, batting out of the number three spot for the vast majority of the season. Steve led the Dukes team in hits with 32 (2nd overall in the tier), Runs Batted In with 18 (tied for 10th overall in the tier), and average with 427 (7th overall in the tier). To say the Dukes relied heavily on Browner would be a considerable understatement, the Dukes overall record in 2013 was a mediocre 12-10-2, but in games where their MVP candidate had multiple hits the Dukes were a different team, registering a 7-2-2 record.  When not playing baseball for the Dukes Steve spends his free time at the local soup kitchen giving back to the community. He is also currently working  on publishing his first novel entitled ' hairy nuts'

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Tommy had a career-year on and off the field. He led the team with .370 AVG, .462 OBP, and had his first multi HR season. All this despite a bad leg injury (from softball…don’t judge him) which he played through down the stretch.  You would have thought it was Vlad Guerrero running the bases. Tommy was also a first-year manager taking over from Old Man McSherry (gave up his duties hoping to get the Blue Jays skipper position). With his calm demeanor, he provided the necessary leadership and stability needed during a re-building year.  Lastly, it is impossible not to love the guy (or his wife Lindsay who’s our #1 fan). Try it, it won’t work.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Steve has been a big asset to our team as being the veteran and its valuable advice have led the team to the first position. He is a full player since he is very good offensively [player at short stop] and defensively [hitter to third position]. His batting average says it all. Congratulations Steve and good luck in your nominations!

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG When you think MVP, you think hitting, pitching, defence - the total package. With his big stick at the plate and some rock solid heat and junk on the mound, Nickels has a great package! Take a look-see at the leaderboards and you'll see Lefty's package all over them. His big stick is 1st in the Tier in HRs, 1st in RBIs, 1st in Total Bases, 2nd in Slugging, 5th in OPS and 9th in Hits. On the bump, Nicky is 3rd in the Tier in Wins, 3rd in ERA, 3rd in WHIP, 4th in Ks and 5th in IP. Ladies and gentleman. Nick. Freakin'. Lenardon. Most. Valuable. Package.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG The Misfits MVP for 2013 is our catcher, James Diak.  His offensive presence in the middle of the lineup had a huge impact but his real contribution was his defense.  6 runners picked off on the base paths, steady hands and head behind the plate, and masterful nack for diplomacy when dealing with umpires.

PA RBI AVG ONB SLUG Go back to the score sheets from your games against the Dukes this season and take a look at Mike Robillard's line. Odds are he did to you what he did all season long and that's put up numbers every night. Consider this, Robee played in 20 games this season and he hit safely in 16 of those games, he had 10 multi-hit games, 10 games with at least 1 extra base hit.... 17 games with at least 1 run scored and 14 games with at least 1 stolen base. Robee is in the top 5 in the tier for On Base Percentage, Slugging, On Base Plus Slugging, Hits, Runs, Triples, Total Bases, Stolen Bases and Walks. Mike Robillard's claim to fame is that prior to his Duke days he was Justin Bieber's back up dancer on his 2010 world tour.

IP SO W-L-S ERA WHIP Steve Rumleski is the 2013 Dukes nomination for Best Pitcher. Steve had another outstanding season as the Dukes Ace. Rumleski recorded four of the Dukes' 12 wins while appearing in only 11 games over 44 innings. Although Steve finished the season with a 4-4 record, his run support in all of those losses was never more than 3 runs. Rumleski's K/BB ratio shows just how great of a control pitcher he is, ending the season at 34/10. Steve Rumleski is currently in Warsaw Poland competing in the national Perogy eating contest. Wish him luck.

IP SO W-L-S ERA WHIP Jesse was a work horse for the Sharks this year. Losing a pitcher early to injury, the Sharks relied on their remaining pitchers to pick up the slack. Jesse made the leader board for ERA, WHIP, IP and W's. He pitched well enough for the Sharks to win in every game he pitched, keeping hitters off balance with intelligent pitching and a great change up. He could easily have led the league in wins if the team helped him out a bit more with both the bats and the leather.

IP SO W-L-S ERA WHIP Burning the heaters, here comes the hot-stepper! This lyrical gangsta can burn it up! Lights out Lenardon's numbers speak for themselves so here's some more. In his last 5 starts down the stretch, Nickelodeon tossed 5 CG while going 5-0 and only gave up 2 earned runs in 36 IP. If you count the playoffs, we'll make that 7-0 with 2 earned runs in 50 IP and 4 shut-outs. Sources say, those are mind-altering numbers! Nickels sure knows how to deal! And he #wonthehyjinx.

IP SO W-L-S ERA WHIP NCBL veteran and Misfit rookie, Paul Robert, came to the team unable to remember the last time he won a game.  Single handedly got us into the playoffs by claiming  2/3 of our wins.  Gave us an opportunity to win every time he took the mound.  Impeccable command of the strike zone and ability to get batters swinging at bad pitches - not to mention the fact that he's a class act all the way.
