Matt Healy was a team player from day one he joined the team, he
always was able to help guys with staying share and focused. He missed only
three games this season playing 83 ½ of 104 innings of games he played in,
showing the commitment to helping to team grow by also sitting on the bench.
Matt also had the skill to played 7 of 9 positions during the season not
looking out of place in any of them.

Stalwart catcher with stellar defensive skills, extremely high
Fielding Pct) and a very good bat (.340 Avg and .888 OPS). Also, was an
effective pitcher who racked up 23 innings. A leader on the team who does so
much for the team. |

We believe Jonny is our MVP this year, supplying power at the
plate, and a sub 4 ERA, he was the complete player when on the field, he also
helped in the IF when needed. Jonny's numbers MVP type numbers, both pitching
and hitting, and for those reasons we think he is the Tier 4 MVP

Rob took over the catching position as we lost our catcher. He
was the real backbone of our team. Rob's batting avg was 493 and ops 583.
Second in RBIs with 17 and Second with 34 hits. Rob also took the leadership
position and covered when the manager was not present. |

As a rookie tied for the lead in HRs (3), top ten in hits (24),
6th in RBI (20), top ten in slugging percentage (.643), 7th in TB (36) and
even had 7 SBs as a power hitter. Of his three homeruns two were off the two
best lefties in the league (Kusiewicz and Krauthaker). Played some great
defence at first and second and was a solid citizen on the field.

Dan aka Moose, aka D-Lax factored in nearly all of our team's
win. A steady hand at the dish with a very patient approach. From the bump he
really makes his presence felt. If we're able to hand a lead over to him in
the 4th or 5th inning Dan provides the security only a mid-80s fastball can,
closing out games with very little turbulence.

Quotes taken from our team's year-end party and season awards as
we have our guys submit write-ups: "Darren is my vote for MVP, he
muscled up on the rubber and managed to fend off Logan's queer gaze many a
time to stay in the game and throw 100+ pitches. Hitting .500 ain't bad
either." "We will need a bigger helmet for his head next year.... I
guess he is pretty good though, Well Earned!” "This player once again
proved he could do it all. Playing the field, pitching, catching, being a
whiny b*tch .... it all came together for him"

When you had a situation where you needed a run or a big at bat
Matt Healy was the guy we turned too. Matts stats speak for themselves, he
hit for the cycle for the season. Every team wanted a batter like Matt, he
made it difficult to pitch to him if you didn’t want for him to hurt
you.

As usual, Jonny supplied a lot of power at the plate, and with a
near .400 BA, he was always making great contact. Jonny also had the lone HR
for us this year, but with some more AB's I'm sure that would have changed.
With the great AVG and power, we nominate Jonny for Batter of Year

Quotes taken from our team's year-end party and season awards as
we have our guys submit write-ups: “Always has the rake out and is ready to

which may be the result of his linear weight gain, but luckily for him, the
two seem to correlate. Nothing like watching this player take a huge cut and
miss, knowing that he really wanted it." "Big Fat Ron swung a big
fat bat this year.”

Every pitching rotation need a big man and our big man is Brett
Harrigan. Brett pitched well this year in his first year in the NCBL,
unfortunately the defence behind him struggled at times. With the struggles
Brett still had a lot of successes this year stats speak for themselves, with
Brett on many on the pitching leader boards. When we wanted a win Brett was
the Man we turned too.

With a 6-3 record this year, Jonny was the ace of our pitching
staff. Always giving us a chance to win any game he started. With a bit more
offence, he would have had a couple more wins. Jonny was always good for 7
innings when he took to the mound, throwing a mix of off speed and a hard
fast ball. With Jonny's experience he was able to mix his pitches and put up
some greast numbers. For those reasons, we believe he is the Tier 4 Pitcher
of the Year.

Quotes taken from our team's year-end party and season awards as
we have our guys submit write-ups: "Darren has proven himself to be the
workhorse for TRV again this year. He shows up to play and can throw one hell
of a game from atop of the mound. The best we have seen him to date"
"“Normally I have nothing good to say about this person, but 236 batters
faced this year! That's a huge feat, and the guy deserves this one. If only
he'd finally realize that a deep ball to the gap is a hit, and if this
results in a run, then yes, it is an earned run, he'd be a lot easier to
tolerate." "Darren throws the ball, and if you take Darrens ball
away he is sad.” "“Give the greasy pig his pitching award"
"“pitched a sh*tload of innings only because Logan was too afraid to
pull him earlier in games.. It must suck having to work with this guy.”

Adam made the jump back to his love of baseball after years of
softball. Adam instantly took a leadership role and made friends with
everyone on the team, most guys he was meeting for the first time. On the
field Adam did a lot this year, played 13 of 20 games, he caught 71.1 of 117
innings pitched. The games missed 2 games was from having the joy of a new
baby which was at several games. Adam also had dental surgery in the
afternoon of a game and was at the game 3 hours later. This guy several teams
said wanted a player like him; always positive, hard working, dedicated to
his team and the game. |

For his workmanlike approach to pitching for a weak defensive
team, with some success. Never got frustrated or angry at events, and always
was ready to contribute in any way (pinch-hitting, playing infield/outfield

Lorne was a very solid player for us this year, both on and off
the field. Lorne was dependable and a real team player. He is a very
supportive teammate and always ready to play. A solid catcher and utility
infielder, and great lead off batter. Any team would be happy to have him on
their team for all those reasons.

Dan and his future wife Val was at almost all the games. Dan was
always willing to help with team duties when the manager was away and Val
gladly filled out our boxscores when we only had 8-9 players at our games
which was the quite common. Dan also played well, pitched great for us when
needed.

Don was a teammate of PapaJo for more than 20 years. He is a
very proud member of the NCBL and promotes it in his columns for time to
time. Although Don doesn't play as often as before he still likes to be
involved in the League. He is one of the most well known players in our tier.
It is his unselfishness that allows younger plays to get more playing time
for the continuous of the Knights team.
We feel that Don will be a very worthy recipient of this award. |

Auggie jumped over a hundred points this year in his batting
average from last year, hitting 319. He had 12 steals this year and tied for
the team lead in runs with 17. Auggie is a great person and a gentleman on
and off the field. He cares for his team and his teammates and is always
striving to make himself better by putting extra work.

A steady hand in the lead off spot for the Strykers in 2016 as
well as a solid defensive centre fielder with above average range and a good
strong left-handed throwing arm in addition to spinning a few solid innings
relief work from the mound Bini is a player with a lot of tools. His name
appears on the leaderboard for virtually every hitting category but his
positive attitude and sportsmanship are what truly set him apart. Bini is
always smiling and always encouraging his teammates. Known for apologizing
profusely for throwing inside on a batter as much as he is for his
exclamations of "fudge" when he makes weak contact ( not censored
by the way he actually says fudge), Bini is at the heart of what made this
strykers team great. |
