Greg Elliot pitched a one-hit shutout for Metcalfe, striking out six.  The
hit was given up to the game's leadoff batter.  Scoreless through six
innings, the Diamondbacks threatened in the seventh.  The rightfielder,
Guthrie, hit a fly ball to left that Jeff Elliot struggled to catch near
the track to end the inning.  In the bottom of seven, Metcalfe leadoff
batter Chris Stacey walked and promptly stole second.  Humberto Medeiros
was walked and Stacey advanced to third on a wild pitch.  Mike Mallette was
intentionally walked to load the bases with none out.  Greg Elliot hit a
ground ball and Stacey came in with the winning run on a close play at the
plate.  Boxall pitched a very strong game for the Diamondbacks, striking
out nine and giving up only two hits.
