This game was almost rained out but after both teams got to the game early and fixed up the field, the game got underway under great conditions, just a little chilly. The game was basically decided in the first inning, after walking the lead-off batter for the Yankees, Delorme, the Brewers got a timely double play started by starting pitcher Jason Krottner. Krottner then struck out the next Yankee batter and the Brewers came up to bat for the bottom of the first. With one out and already one run in, Mike Gazo doubled home Krottner. Then the next batter, Jon Zywicki went deep down the line in right field for his first home run of the season, making the score 5-0. The Brewers ended up bringing 11 batters to the plate in the first inning.

After the first, Krottner got in a groove and didn't give up a hit until Cairns led off the 5th with a line drive to center. With Krottner cruising, the Brewer bats continued to do well, scoring 2 in the second highlighted by a Jon Zywicki RBI double, 1 in the third courtesy of a Krottner RBI single, an unearned run in the fourth, and then a 3-run homer by Mike Gazo in the 5th. The Yankees were able to score 4 runs in the 6th off of rookie pitcher Nick Lenarden who struggled to find his control, Jason Krottner was brought back in to pitch the end of the sixth and all of the seventh.

The Brewers were led by Gazo and Zywicki offensively, with Gazo scoring 4 runs, with a double, home run, SB, and 4 RBI.
Zywicki was a triple away from hitting for the cycle, finishing with 3 RBI.
