In this battle of winless teams, the Crusaders proved to be better on this night as they won 7-0 for their first win of the season.  The Eagles were in the game throughout, as it was scoreless entering the bottom of the 4th. The Crusaders finally got on the board with an RBI groundout by John Evans, and then another RBI groundout that the Eagles misplayed scored a second unearned run. The Eagles pitcher, Goulet, was victim of non-support from his teams bats, as the Crusaders pitcher, Bennett, pitched brilliantly, only giving up 3 hits, striking out 8 and at one point retiring 12 batters in a row.  As the Eagles bats fizzled, the Crusaders bats got hotter as the game went on, scoring in each of the last 4 innings, highlighted by doubles by Macera, Fenn, and Sappalla. It was a well played game by both teams, the difference was the ineffectiveness of the Eagles bats who weren't able to put a runner on third until the seventh inning with two outs.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Bennett, Crusaders. 7IP, 3H, 2BB, 8K's, 0R
