The Sundevils (5-1) put a claim in on the top stop in Tier 2 with an 8-5 win over the
Silverbacks (3-2) tuesday night at Faulkner Field. Pacing the Sundevils attack were Chris
Schmidt who was 4-4 with 3 steals, Dave Priest 3-3 with a pair of doubles and Blake Claydon who
was 2-4 with 4 RBIs including a bases loaded triple that proved to be the difference. Jeremy
Guerts went the distance to pick up his first win of the season scattering 4 hits with 7 Ks and
only 1 earned run. That earned run was the high point of the Silverbacks night as Trevor ? had a
clean steal of home that didnt even draw a throw. The Sundevils win was severely tarnished
though as they lost starting RF Pete Gosselin to a torn right hamstring in the bottom of the
fourth as he was chasing down a long triple.

Jesse Town had a bunt single in the first to extend his hitting streak to 6 games
Claydon extended his own streak to 5
Sundevils play Thursday and Friday at 8:30 at Faulkner against the Eagles and D-Backs
