In yet another pitching duel for the Brewers, Jim Mallette of the Mudd and Jason Krottner hooked up to take this game into the 6th inning scoreless. Jason Krottner pitched 6+ innings giving up only 5 hits and only 1 runner to third base while striking out 8. Jim Mallette was equally dominant through the first 5 innings giving up only 4 hits and 1 runner to third after 5 innings. In the 6th, Matt Beelen led off with a walk and then stole second. Then with one out Krottner helped his own cause with an RBI single and then Mike Gingerich knocked Krottner in with a 2 out RBI single to make the score 2-0. This was all the scoring in this tight affair. Matt Beelen had to come in to get the last 2 outs in the 7th as the Mudd were threatening and enduced a line out double play to end the game.
